BIOGRAPHY James Carlton, born 16 November 1977, in Bolton, Lancashire, England, UK, is an English actor best known for playing Jason Kirk in "Emmerdale" and PC Steve Crane in the "Heartbeat".
Carlton started his career in 1998, starring in the TV series "The Cops". Soon after, he played Jason Kirk in "Emmerdale Farm" from 1999 to 2002 and 35 episodes as Steve Crane in "Heartbeat" from 2003 to 2004. Carlton has also appeared in minor roles or as a visitor in "Casualty", "Merseybeat", "Cold Feet", "Where the Heart Is", and "Peep Show" . And in 2008, he joined "Doctors" as Mike Kelsey.
