BIOGRAPHY Johnny Nguyen aka Minh Tri (his Vietnam name), born February 16, 1974, in Vietnam, is a Vietnamese actor and stuntman.
Nguyen left Vietnam at the age of 8, uncertain of what destination lied ahead. As a boy, he already loved Hong Kong cinema. He would soon start training in martial arts. Nguyen's expertise in martial arts led him to secure his first job in the entertainment business as a stuntman. With over 18 years of experience in Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Japanese Aikido, he is also an expert in Wushu. He won a gold medal from Pan America Form and Sword and was also nominated for best fight in Spider Man.
In 2003, Nguyen had a big breakthrough as an actor in "Cradle 2 the Grave," next to Jet Li and Mark Dacascos. Since then, he has made appearances in many American films such as "Spider-Man" 1 and 2, "Mortal Kombat," "We Were Soldiers," "Ella Enchanted," and "The Perfect Sleep. " Nguyen was also seen in "XMA," Mike Chat's Extreme Martial Arts, performing with weapons, fights and acrobatics.
