Lucas Velazquez

Lucas Velazquez, born on April 22, 1981 in Medellín, Antioquia, is a Colombian actor.

Velazquez discovered his passion for the arts when he moved to Quebec, Canada in his early teens to study at the Polyvalent de Charlesbourg school where he became part of the theater group. It was here he immersed himself in art, allowing him to hone his skills, doing different characters, that he became convinced once and for all that he wanted to be an actor.

Then at the age of 15, Velasquez moved back to his homeland. His acting prowess was quickly put into test when he was given a role in the TV series "El Manantial". It was his first real chance to show off his talents. The public learned to recognise him and grow fond of him.

Velazquez has been working steadily ever since. As of 2009, he's playing the character of Axel in the telenovela "Atrévete a soñar". His other acting credits include "La marca del deseo", "Francisco el matemático", and "El manantial"; he also appeared in the singing competition "Factor X: La Batalla de las Estrellas", and he was a finalist in the second season of the Dancing with the Stars competition "Bailando por un Sueño".
