BIOGRAPHY Matthew Fox, born July 14, 1966, in Crowheart, Wyoming is an American actor. He is most well-known for playing the television characters Charlie Salinger on Party of Five and Jack Shephard on Lost.
The son of Loretta and Francis Fox, Matthew Fox was born as the middle of three brothers on his family's horse ranch in Crowheart, Wyoming. He was educated at Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts for a post-grad year after high school, and then matriculated at Columbia University where he played football and majored in Economics with the intent to end up on Wall Street.
However, his girlfriend's mother was a modeling agent who convinced him to try some modeling which led to a couple of TV commercials. Soon after he was sold on acting. He attended the School for Film and Television in New York City. After graduating in 1988, he began acting with the Atlantic Theater Company. Fox is a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, as well as the Toronto Blue Jays. Music is also a major part of his life, citing The Arcade Fire, Sigur Ros, I Am Kloot, Modest Mouse and Texan band The Black Angels as some of his favourite bands. He's also a fan of punk.
In his spare time, he enjoys horseback riding. He has been horseback riding since he was six years old. View GALLERY:
