Thomas Jane

Displaying astonishing versatility with a wide range of upcoming films, Tom Jane combines a leading man's profile with a character actor's art of performance.

Jane stars as the title character in the big-screen adaptation of Marvel Comic's "The Punisher," for Lions Gate Entertainment in theaters now. For his role as undercover FBI agent Frank Castle, Jane underwent extensive training with former Navy SEALS. In the story, Castle's family is executed as a repercussion from his final undercover assignment. With unparalleled intensity, ferocious intelligence and fearless actions, Castle seeks to punish the murderers and finds the one thing he least expected: redemption.

Jane's next project to hit theatres is "Stander" for director Bronwen Hughes, which was acquired by Newmarket Films after critical acclaim at the 2003 Toronto Film Festival. Based on a true story, Jane stars in the title role as a South African police officer who, in the early 1980s, turned to a life of crime, robbing as many as four banks a day.

Jane starred as baseball legend Mickey Mantle in HBO's Emmy nominated "61*." Helmed by Billy Crystal, "61*" tells the story of the race to break Babe Ruth's single-season home run record, waged in 1961 between the New York Yankees' Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle (Barry Pepper).
