Alexander Despatie has become the first Canadian man to win a medal in Olympic diving, capturing the silver medal in the 3 metre springboard event in 2004.

Despatie was born on June 8, 1985 in a beautiful city Montreal, Quebec.

High performances:
1998: Commonwealth Games - 1st 10m platform, 10th 3m springboard
1999: Junior World Championships - 1st 1m springboard, 1st 3m springboard, 6th 10m platform, FINA World Cup - 17th 10m platform
2000: Olympic Games - 4th 10m platform (652.35)
2001: World Championships - 2nd 10m platform (670.95)
2004: Olympic Games - 2nd men's 3 meter springboard
