BIOGRAPHY Fernando José Torres, born on March 20, 1984 in Madrid, Spain, is a football player. He is nicknamed El Niño (The Child), because of his youth.
Torres made his debut for Atlético de Madrid in 2000. He is the youngest player to play for Atleti, the youngest goalscorer, and the youngest to play for the Spanish national side. Torres is a forward, and wears the number 9 shirt. He is a complete player: strong in the air, quick, skillful with both feet and not physically intimidated.
