BIOGRAPHY Gervasio Deferr was born on July 11, 1980 in Barcelona. At the 2004 Athens Olympic Games held in August, Spain's Gervasio Deferr became the only individual champion of the 2000 Sydney Games to successfully defend his or her title.
Deferr won the gold medal on vault, as he had done four years ago.
He also became Spain's first gold medalist of the Athens Games.
