Kasey Kahne was born April 10, 1980, in Washington and makes his home in Huntersville, North Carolina.

In 2004, Kahne assumed the role formerly held by Bill Elliot as driver of the No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge. Kahne races double-duty as he competes in a full Nextel Cup schedule as well as a full NASCAR Busch Series schedule.

Kasey Kahne is one of the best in the younger crop of this generation’s drivers. His raw talent and ability to muscle his way into the winner’s circle has garnered quite a few fans. His rise to the ranks of the NASCAR elite was anything but slow.

Early in Kahne’s career, he won 11 out of 14 mini-sprint feature events on his way to two championships in his first two seasons.

In 1998, Kahne was racing full-sized sprint cars and won 12 events that year. Next came Kasey Kahne’s deal with Steve Lewis (who found racing greats such as Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart) to race the full United States Auto Club schedule.

In his first season, the young driver tallied enough wins to garner the USAC Silver Crown Rookie of the Year award, the USAC Midget Series champion, and the Driver of the Year honors. In 2002, Kahne signed with car owner Robert Yates to run a limited Busch series schedule before running a complete NASCAR Busch Series schedule.

With a strong start on the 2004 NASCAR schedule, Kasey Kahne looks to be the best NASCAR Rookie driver in 2004. Other contenders could be Brendan Gaughan, Scott Wimmer, Johnny Sauter, Brian Vickers, or Scott Riggs.
