According to tabloid The Star, Boy band superstar Lance Bass could soon be singing Bye Bye Bye to hundreds of lovelorn female fans if his plans to marry 7th Heaven stunner Beverly Mitchell work out.

The couple are madly in love and want to get hitched as soon as possible, say pals. They've even started planning a secret wedding!

While Lance, 21, recently told interviewer Larry King he was unattached, declaring, "I date everyone!" pals revealed that he and pretty Mitchell, 20, are totally in love.

The news will come as a surprise for the band's millions of fans, but Mitchell, who plays Lucy on the wholesome WB family series, has her own reasons for keeping the relationship hush-hush.

"Beverly was afraid what her boss, Aaron Spelling, would say about her and Lance," says a source. "Mr. Spelling's very protective of his young cast members and doesn't want them to be distracted from their careers. But it's gotten to the point where Beverly and Lance are tired of keeping their romance under wraps."

The couple met just over a year ago when the actress convinced producers to have the 'N Sync heartthrob guest star on 7th Heaven. They hit it off right away, and sources say by the second day of shooting, Mitchell invited Bass home for dinner and to meet her family.

"It was one of those big gatherings where the whole family gets together to have dinner and watch a movie," says a source. Bass then took her home, so she could meet his family -- dad Jim, a laboratory manager, and mom Diane, a teacher -- who wholeheartedly approved of the religious California gal. Pals knew something was up when the singer kept sneaking away for long, intimate talks on his cell phone.

"I can tell he really has deep feelings for Beverly," says the insider. "When I heard he wanted to marry her, I wasn't really surprised." But the love between the happy couple may cause a rift in 'N Sync.

"Lately, the guys have been giving Lance a hard time over Beverly," says the first source.

"Chris, the zaniest member of the band, even told Lance to forget about marriage and he and Beverly should just live together.

"Lance snapped when he heard that. Both he and Beverly are Christians and very religious. They'd never consider living together before marriage."

A source from 'N Sync's record company, Jive Records, sympathizes with the young lovers.

"Lance has a lot of fans out there, and he's a great influence on the rest of the band," says the source.

"But I understand he's totally in love with Beverly, and Lance will do what's best for Lance."
