GOSSIP!
LOS ANGELES (CP) - Justin Timberlake of 'N Sync and girlfriend Britney Spears are both familiar with the pop charts, but will they both find a home on the best-seller lists? Spears, 19, has co-written a young adult novel with her mother, Lynne, which is to be released this week, EW.com reports.
The pair's previous book, the memoir Heart to Heart, is in its sixth printing and has sold 189,000 copies. The main character of the new book, A Mother's Gift, may sound a little familiar - golden-haired Holly Faye Lovell, a chaste 14-year-old in a small American town who dreams of being a pop singer. Meanwhile, a proposal has been circulating around New York publishers for a sports thriller called Crossover Dribble to be written by Timberlake, 20. "The character is a white Michael Jordan - a basketball phenomenon," says an editor who passed on the book. The hero's name? Justin Woodriver. "(Timberlake's) audience is girls, and sports thrillers - which are a tough sell no matter how well they're written - are a boys' market," says another editor, who also passed.
