Christian Yanik

Do you know what you want in life? My name is Christian Yanik, I’m 22, and to be completely honest; I don’t know what I want in life. I was born in the bay area of California and when I was five my family moved to Eugene, Oregon. I grew up the way anyone would in a smaller town, sheltered. When I was 18, I enrolled at the University of Oregon, studying a variety of majors. I still didn’t know what I wanted to do and needed more. I moved to Portland, the biggest city in Oregon. Though I was making a name for myself through modeling and enjoying all it had to offer, it wasn’t enough. I felt as if I’ve reached my plateau at such a young age… There had to be more.

I decided to move to the Los Angeles area to push myself even more with modeling. I had tons of photographers saying I had what it takes and friends saying I was meant for this. Mostly I needed change. At first it was way too much and I felt like every casting call I went to there was at least a hundred people in every line. I didn’t let that get me down, I had a L.A. photographer shoot me and finally my stuff was getting published, I couldn’t believe it. I got signed with two different agencies and I knew I was on my way. I’ve finally felt I’ve had so much support from so many different people; I wish they knew how much they’ve meant to me over the last couple of years. My life growing up, to the moment I decided to move to Los Angeles, has given me the drive and the confidence to make myself more than I ever thought possible.

Going back on my first paragraph, I don’t know what I want in life, it’s true. I don’t think anyone should listen to what they don’t feel inside. If I did I wouldn’t be where I am today. All that aside, I want to go back to school to study Criminology, love working out, and my biggest passion in life is dancing. I love going to the clubs! That’s where my biggest work-out is. I love my friends and family for being there and pushing me.

I know I will have bigger and better opportunities in my future. I know where I want to be and I know what it takes to get there. I'm very focused in what I do and always bring a positive attitude to every photo shoot. My work is unique and stands out of the crowd. I'm constantly updating my book and pursuing every opportunity that comes my way. We were all meant to live for so much more; so why stop now?
