Derrick

Hi! I'm Derrick orginally from the midwest currently living in San Francisco. I was first introduced to my agency when a girlfriend was scouted while with me at the gym. She was nervous and skeptical about meeting with an agent but I talked her into it and she convinced me into tagging along for moral support. When we got to the agency they focused all the attention on me and ended up signing me and not her! She was relieved though since she doesn't like being in the limelight.

I am no stranger to the stoplight having earned a Bachelors degree in Performing Arts and Theatrical Direction. Since i was already working casually on a few runway shows and shoots for friends, I decided to shift more focus to furthering the ascpect of my career.

All that stagework from college seems to have come in handy for my modeling work, especially in runway. The heat of the lights, the sultry beat of the music and the intensity of all eyes focused on me allows me to slip into my old stage persona. Though I shine on the runway, I really have more fun with the process of a print shoot. I have really enjoyed all the people I have met working in this industry.

I am building my book so that I can break into some larger markets. I am getting more work in LA and hoping to get more in NYC and look forward to traveling for work. Istanbul, Turkey and Shanghai, China are at the top of the list. Right now, I am studying for the LSATS and am applying to law schools next year. Most likely, I will stay tied to the industry and become an entertainment lawyer...if I don't play one on TV first!
