Edward Cruz

I was born in San Francisco, California on February 9th 1978. My full name Edward Enrique Cruz Paz comes from my father who is Mexican. My mother is Portugese and French.

I was raised in North Carolina, mainly by mom. She always was looking out for me and my little brother. I went to Christian schools up until high school where I was influenced by the punk and modern rock music. I was dying my hair and wearing all this army fatigue wear. Around 15, I ran away and hit the streets of San Francisco and Berkeley- searching for answers I wasn't gettin at home. I lived in a big abandoned 4 story house with so many other run away kids. It was insane. I lived like this for a short time and decided to go back home, and continue to study.

When I turned 18, I came to NYC to live. Nothing in paticular brought me here other than the desire to run wild and experience the world's most exciting place. One day, I was walking through SOHO and a young French photographer, Nicholas Wagner, approached me and asked me to take photos with him. I didn't think it would hurt anybody, so I went for it. We shot roll after roll, producing creative images. Later that month, he called me and asked if I would meet his friend Natalie Kates at Q model management in SOHO. Why not. Went in, got picked up by her agency; started working with incredible people, all over the world and all of a sudden, had this career I enjoy now and look back at as one of the most rewarding times of my life.

Working in some of the most amazing places with other celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, and Victoria's Secret angels- Bridgette Hall and Inez Rivera. Advertising for Timberland, Armani, Custo Barcelona, Champion Sports and many others. A mini series DOG DAYS on Discovery's Animal Planet, walking cat walks in NY with top models from everywhere, shootin music videos in my underwear! It's been a wild ride, and I have loved every minute. I am now with CLICK models of NY and ELITE of Miami.

I spend my time studying at the NY School for Film and Television at night, go to my castings and work out like a horse during the day. I worked on two films in NY this past year, SLING SHOT which appeared at the Tribeca Film Festival and Characters- a short about the mafia.
