Hi!
I'm Rife. I was raised on 36 acres of woods and ponds in the rural South
where I ran around practically naked, covered in dirt, with my faithful
dog, who protected me from real life snakes and imaginary bandits. Growing
up I went fishing and exploring and rode my bike on gravel roads.
I learned to swim
at 6 months old. You could sue your parents for this today, but they
just threw me into the pool. Today I am grateful for the early start
as swimming is one of my most favorite things to do as well as the basis
of many other active things I enjoy. My family often took trips to water-ski,
sail, canoe and kayak on the local rivers and lakes. Growing up I played
tennis, baseball, football, soccer and basketball. I also embraced every
opportunity to perform that I could from an early age (I played Abe
Lincoln in my pre-school pageant), which I attribute to my mother being
a college drama teacher. So, I sang in my church choir, played in the
school band and acted in school and community plays.
Occasionally
someone would approach me to model, which never really crossed my mind
because I don't see myself as a model, so I did a little of that too
for local clothing ads -- hey it was extra cash and a real esteem booster!
But when you grow up in the South with a father who's a chemistry professor,
pursuing that as a career isn't an easy choice -- being a Capricorn
doesn't help either! So, I focused on getting my college degree. After
college I spent a Summer in Yellowstone National Park, probably the
best time of my life and the freest. I loved communing with nature,
hiking and mountain biking. Probably the best part though was driving
cross-country in my Jeep with the top down! From there it was all about
work and I wound up in the entertainment industry working with a lot
of celebrities, an experience that showed me they are just people, too.
But, I still had not focused on acting or modeling ... my first love.
Today,
I am living in Los Angeles with my dogs. We spend time at the dog park
or some of the really great beaches around Southern California that
allow dogs -- when I am not working out 6 days a week and eating, that
is! I am still working in the entertainment business, but I am freelance
so I finally have the time and mindset to actively pursue my acting
and modeling ambitions. In my spare time, I take acting classes and
workshops and also kickboxing and yoga instruction. Some of my interests
and hobbies include architecture, electronics, cooking, reading and
films. I enjoy nothing more than just sitting around with really good
friends and breaking bread. In these troubled times, I can't think of
anything better than sharing life with your friends and loved ones.
