Christian Acosta

Christian Acosta, born on November 4, 1981 in Stamford, Connecticut, is a musician and actor of Colombian descent.

Breaking into the Latin music scene, Christian Acosta combines sounds from his Latin roots along with pure R&B and rock to make a sound all his own.

Born in Connecticut to Colombian parents and raised in South Florida, Christian was introduced to Latin music since birth and throughout his childhood. His parents are big advocates of Latin music and Christian grew up listening to Celia Cruz, Compay Segundo, and Grupo Niche. “In school there were very few kids that actually knew who Vicente Fernandez was. I always felt proud of my Latin background,” says Christian.

Growing up with Latin music always playing in the background, Christian eventually started to work on music of his own. He started performing in schools, community events, local radio stations, and anywhere he could. Christian credits his desire to perform on stage to a long list of legends including Luis Miguel, Selena, Celia Cruz, Julio Iglesias, and Ricky Martin.

Charting into a more serious direction toward a career in music, Christian was introduced to several influential music producers in Miami and New York. Christian was also introduced to Gina Maretta, famed vocal coach to numerous singers including Gloria Estefan, Shakira, Thalia, and Luis Enrique. Christian’s hard work and determination would eventually land him a record deal and take him to record songs for an English album with a Latin sound.

While in the studio, Christian found that he was longing to record in Spanish. He has since decided to halt his initial project and focus on a Spanish album instead.

“Christian will be the next big thing in Latin music,” says RE talent director Robert Tuvrall, “I warned him though, that as soon as he conquers the Latin music world, he will have to basically start from scratch when it comes to crossing over with an all English album. There will be a crossover in Christian’s near future for the English market.”

Christian has a bachelors degree in Communications but because his musical career has been so successful he has not had to use it. His hobbies are traveling, kickboxing, swimming, and cars.
