BIOGRAPHY Radio Disney fave Jesse McCartney was a child performer dynamo, singing on Broadway and landing an acting gig on All My Children before even joining his first boy band, a feat that came at the age of 12.
Jesse McCartney was born on April 9, 1987. He played Louis in the national touring company of the revival of The King & I in 1997. He has played Adam Chandler, Jr. on the soap, All My Children, since 1998. Since 1998, he has sung with the group, Sugar Beats. He can be heard on their 1998 CD, How Sweet It Is; on their 1999 CD, Wild Thing; and on their 2000 CD, Car Tunes. In 1999 he joined another singing group called Dream Street. It scored a platinum album with their self-titled debut before spinning off the careers of Chris Trousdale and McCartney himself, who started contributing music to kid-friendly films like Cinderella Story ("The Best Day of My Life"), Stuck in the Suburbs ("Good Life"), and Ella Enchanted, for which he performed a version of Elton John's "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" with Anne Hathaway, the film's star.
McCartney returned to acting in 2004 with a role on the WB teen drama Summerland. He also finished up work on his first solo full-length. "Beautiful Soul" was the album's title track and lead single, and pointed to its smooth blend of pop-rock sensibilities punched up with soulful inflections and danceable beats. Beautiful Soul was issued September 28, 2004 by Hollywood Records. View GALLERY:
