Kris Allen’s debut album is worst in Idol’s history; Adam Lambert outsold him

Kris Allen may be an “American Idol” winner, but fans didn’t vote him to No. 1. this week, according to Billboard.

The Season 8 victor’s debut album sold a disappointing 80,000 in its first week, the weakest debut of any “Idol” winner, landing it at No. 11.

In fact, another “Idol” winner, Carrie Underwood, outsold him with sales of her third album, “Play On.” The album sold 86,000 copies, pushing it past the half-million mark overall. It was released on November 3.

And Kris’ runner-up, Adam Lambert, is poised to make a much bigger splash with his own debut, “For Your Entertainment.” The album is reportedly on its way to a 225,000-selling release following the star’s controversial performance on last weekend’s “American Music Awards.”

John Mayer earned the week’s No. 1 album with “Battle Studies,” which sold 286,000 copies.

I’ve never heard of him, but anyone who looks like such a complete nitwit as he does in that picture I don’t really want to hear of anyway.

  2. adriskrayzee Says:

He has absolutely no style not anything unique to offer to the audience, that’s why he’s failed.

  3. mason Says:

That pic with him and Adam is hysterical….little Chris looks like a deer in headlights, and Adam looks like a hungry wolf!!

  4. Marcus Says:

I thought Grace Jones pulled a “Michael Jackson”
on us and discolered her skin to white, but I was wrong.
    It’s just Adam.
